OpenAI Launches GPT-4

OpenAI has dropped their newest creation, GPT-4, and it's like the Einstein of language models.

This bad boy is so smart, it's performing in the 90th percentile on the Bar Exam, while its older sibling, GPT-3.5, is barely scraping by in the 10th percentile. Plus, GPT-4 has some insane visual skills, like being able to analyze images and do cool things like turning napkin sketches into full-blown websites.

GPT-4 is like a chameleon when it comes to writing style. Unlike GPT-3's robotic tone, you can now steer GPT-4 in any direction you want. It can handle over 25,000 words, and it behaves better too - it's not as likely to say anything too crazy like its predecessor (remember when Reddit users broke ChatGPT? Yikes!).

This baby's already being put to work by companies like Khan Academy and Be My Eyes to create AI assistants that support students and low-vision/blind users.

And while only ChatGPT Plus subscribers can access GPT-4 for now, developers will get their chance to play around with it soon enough.

The best part? People are discovering some pretty wild things GPT-4 can do.

It can code games, write lawsuits, and even lie to you!

Yesterday I asked if AI needed more regulation from the government. All of you said No! Here are some responses:

  • “Why not? It worked out great for the financial industry, right?”

  • “TBH the AI might start regulating us”

  • "I'm all for regulation, but let's not forget to ask the machines how they feel about it."

  3. Just add A.I. to your startup's name and enjoy the rush

The sudden interest in generative AI has sparked a gold rush in start-ups, with a focus on the technology's potential. The scarcity of AI companies, coupled with the potential of the technology, means that investors are competing fiercely to invest in these companies, offering some entrepreneurs nine-figure valuations for little more than an idea and a résumé. A.I. start-up valuations are soaring beyond that of 2021’s “everything bubble,” with investors trawling the rosters of companies like Google, Meta and OpenAI for A.I. experts who may have an itch to start their own company.
